Alex Not Feeling Well Today

Today I read one chapter from "Little Pear" to Alex and Briana. That is all that we did because Alex is not feeling well today. He has drainage, a sore throat, slight temp., and complains of a hot chest. He has just laid around and watched educational dvd's most of the day.

Only Two Books Today!

Today Alex read these two books to me. He didn't read until evening because the older boys had piano lessons in the morning and then in the afternoon they played outside until about supper time. It was a beautiful 63 degrees outside today. I didn't actually do any reading aloud with him today. I plan to continue on Monday.

Books, Books and More Books!

Three more books read by Alex. These are all books I have pulled from our home library. It is definitely nice to have books on hand especially when there are five children all wanting books. Today we read Chapter 5 in Little Pear. I also read pages 1 - 5 from The Usborne Complete First Book of Nature (this reading was about birds), pages 2-3 from The Usborne Book of Wild Places (this reading was about mountains), and pages 2-3 from The Usborne Book of Living Long Ago (topic was types of clothing from long ago). We had an enjoyable time reading. Then as a fun book I read The Berenstain Bears and the Eager Beavers.

Books Read by Alex

These are the three books that Alex read to me today. He is really enjoying it. We also read chapter 4 from "Little Pear" by Eleanor Lattimore.
Tonight Alex came downstairs to let me hear a song played on our globe and informed me that it was Little Pear's national anthem. It was the anthem of the Republic of China.

Daily Reading by Alex

The books that Alex read to me today. I have decided to take a picture of what Alex reads rather than writing it down. It will definitely save me time but yet still give me the record I am wanting. We also read another chapter from Little Pear.

Reading in in Kindergarten!

I have decided to try and have Alex (my Kindergartner) read to me more than he does. He is my middle child and tends to sometimes get lost in the shuffle. I have picked out 15 books that I think he should be able to read and I am letting him pick three a day to read to me. These are the books he read today. He is really doing a good job reading. I have also started reading a chapter book to him and Briana. We are currently reading Little Pear by Eleanor Lattimore.

Briana - Preschool

This year Briana is slowly working through K4 Foundations via HomeSat.
She has also spent the weekend learning to spell and write her name. She does a fairly good job for a 4 year old. The only thing she does wrong is she writes her A's as capitals instead of lowercase. I have tried to show her how to write a lowercase "a" but she just can't seem to do it. She has also been putting a lot of puzzles together lately. She has been working on a couple that are 63 pieces. She also does a lot of 25 piece puzzles.
